RF II on Marriage

It's an introspective marriage

R.F. II On: Marriage

With the insane experience that I have had with marriage, you would think that marriage would be the furthest thing from my mind. In actuality, it's the closest thing to it. I mean, not that I’m trying to rush out and get married again or anything like that; I just know that with the things that my marriage brought to light, it has basically shown me the things I’d need to do to have a successful marriage should I ever decide to do it again. And in no way did all the problems and complexities of it taint my thinking or make me wish for death upon my spouse or anything of that nature. It just made me see that sometimes you have to be willing to extend yourself just a little further to try and give your love a fighting chance to make it. If you don't believe in the vows you take, as you become man and wife it'll show. And if you don't believe them you shouldn't take them. I feel as though god knew just what he was talking about when he placed Corinthians I in the bible. It describes an unconditional love unparalleled by other kind of love that exists or doesn't exist for that matter. I feel as though you have to be your spouse's friend and they have to be yours in order for your situation to flourish. You have to know that on the other side of the honeymoon, the cruise, the trip to Florida or whatever the case may be, that when you get back, there will come a point where, if you stay together long enough, the intimacy is going to slow down, the lust factor involved is going to become null and void; it'll just be you and your friend. I think a good marriage starts when all the other bus. Aspects of it have been stripped away and it's just you and your spouse, locked up emotion to emotion, love on love with each other. I think that when you can become your spouse's best friend, you are well on the way to having a solid marriage. Communication is extremely important. If you don't tell a person what you think, they'll never know. If you don't tell them how you feel, how are they gonna know? I've come to find that there are very few true psychic mind readers contrary to what Dionne, Ms.Cleo and rest of them say. So you have to explain yourself and express yourself. If you don't use the two E's, then you'll end up with tears and heartache because I feel as though the moment you're not able to convey your thoughts and express your feelings, that's the moment you know you've lost whatever you thought you had. And Ialso believe that secrets are for the CIA and FBI, and the KGB not people in love… sorry. Not that you have to divulge every aspect of your breathing and existence, but your spouse shouldn't be in the dark about things that make a difference. They need to know just like you need to know. The world doesn't need to know. Marriage is best when kept away from family members. Although on one hand you marry the family when you get married, you don't marry the family to your business. Your house is your house; your home is your home. A marriage needs a home to thrive and flourish in. Because homes have love, homes they have concerns, home they have people. Before I get married again, in fact, it's just something that's inevitable for me simply because I would like to be able to give the type of love I have in my heart to someone and have them return it to me. So me on marriage means me on second chances, and me on never giving up. I dream and believe and feel that somewhere out there is someone just like me. And we'll meet.
