Mother’s Last Breath
I hold your hand
With tears rolling
Down my eyes,
My heart breaking down
In that,
“I love you mom” feeling.
Cancer has taken its toll,
But I am beside you,
Until that very last breath.
Mom,
From within the womb,
You nurtured me
From my very conception
To this day of your final departure.
In how many ways,
Can I miss your presence?
When God lifts you up,
And takes you
Away from me.
Where in being my mother,
You will look down at me,
As another guardian Angel
That protects her children.
That all mothers await,
Upon heaven’s gate
To welcome their children home,
Where they share eternity -
Together.
