Love Jon Willey's comment, Belle, which I think speaks volumes. The form, diction and flow are sinuous yet rightly and tightly wrought to express the mood and passion each line contains and I'm really brought up short by this wonderful line which belies the rest of the poem's evergreen-ness:
your love brings my forgotten beauty to life
How can the intrinsic beauty of the soul that pens these words ever be forgotten? Yet here the reality of mortality versus the eternality of such love is starkly contrasted. Belle, you are at the very top of your game here and in a league of your first-class own. Superb romance! xx |

Crushed between the pages of a writer's love. You have written much of this theme, but each poem is still superlative and meaningful. You have a real gift that you give the reader. Thank you.

It is remarkable how words spoken within the first hour of the heart still continue striking anew and with the same beat. I find that rhythm irresistably sweet and the ardor of those delights bearing no less heat on those starlit nights where verses flow so freely from the heart and as passionate as the music of that same romance. It is only when it is heartfelt that inspiration is born and reborn.

This is fantastic love poem, La Belle. The last stanza resounds and captivates the reader (me) with its very intimate passages, such as my favorite, "my only flame, / candles of your dark eyes mirroring pale / in the night"
This was a joy to read and a delight to respond to its sensuousness. |
