There's nothing wrong with getting high, or so Carol and Karla felt in this Teen Contemporary, that is until Rod got high on Bath Salts. ..

Can You Hear Me ?

In honor of a sister's love...and memory.
.............................................................................

Can You Hear Me ?…………………………………………………………………

I know you can hear me…
You always do…even when
I don’t want you to.

Remember when I asked you,
To be sure to let me know…
That you were safe and happy ?
A request I made…
With some of my last earthly
Words spoken to you.

You’ve been watching closely…
Haven’t you  ?
Even in your heavenly form,
You find it hard to understand
The impact your unselfish love…
Had on me.

You sent me her…and him…
Didn’t you Moe ?
Her with your gentleness…
Small in stature…even looks
A lot like you.
She has the hidden protective
Flare…like you…that only
Surfaces when others mess
With me.

Her touch is like the soothing
Touch of your velvet…
Where I could rest for eternity…
But you seldom allowed me
To acknowledge weakness…
Giving me the strength it took
To get through.

You and she…
Fought the same battle,
Against invading evil…
Unlike you…she had him…
His quiet strength pulled
Her through.

You sent him too…
Strong and silent,
Setting an example…
Teaching…like you…
Something I wish to
Possess in my soul…
With patience and warmth
Of the brother I never had…

As always your timing was perfect.
As I viewed the conclusion of
My battle…off in the distance,
I had little way of knowing,
How emotions would raise
Havoc…when leaving all
I had bled for…behind.

I’m at peace Moe…
They are pulling me through…
Like you…with love…

Thank you once again…
My dear sister…
I love you.

I am so envious of your awareness and ability to connect. Such a special gift you have received. You needn't ask "Can You Hear Me". You already have your answer. Smile and hold on.

In this day and age when so may families are not getting along, it's refreshing and quite emotional to read a poem such as this that expresses in depth the love you have for your sister. A beautiful, beautiful tribute Erin, blessings, Holly
