early winter storm

rolls in as autumn sighs
as clouds drift heavy
Indian summer cries
flashes of golden light
upon mountain side
leaves orange yellow and red
green pines moan
clouds cross a lake
wind blown white caps
crash unto a wooded shore
fog settles over rock
rain turns to snow
seasons turn once more
flashes of golden fall

fabulous capture in flashing, short lines, Dale. Incisive observation and razor-sharp images blend with your softer, more opaque and ambivalent tones, creating the duallisms that mid-season storms can muster. Whatever the weather, the environment you capture is beguiling. xx

Nice!
The scene, the sounds, the colors;
spreads out in the minds eye

Dale, you make this transition sound so beautiful! I usually embrace the change of the seasons, because in itself they are little miracles, but for some reason, this year, I do not want winter to come.
Lovely poem!
Much peace, love, and light,

Richly imaged in verse, one experiences the Early Winter Storm. Send any snow you don't want down Texas way. We've forgotten what it looks like, and we need a good bug killin' blizzard! LOL Well done, Dale, seriously: this is beautiful. Colorful.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
