The Way I Am.
This is my life
Walking with my wife
Listening to the song of the bird
Whenever I feel like, laughter is heard
Being always spontaneous and free
To express my feelings with glee
Always enthusiastic about things
Gives my imagination wings
Admiring the color of the flowers,
Roses blooming in the morning hours
Smelling jasmine and lilac flagrance
Coming from my garden in abundance
Awakening with the rooster’s crow
Or thinking of how it was years ago
Seeing the sunrise, my heart filled with awe
Under a blue sky watching the snow thaw
Enjoying my coffee, singing old folk songs
Makes my heart happy, there it belongs
Seeing wild trees in their natural shape
And my garden’s asymmetrical landscape
Sleeping when I am really tired
Eating when I am hungry and inspired
Cooking and preparing a simple meal
At times just something, as I feel
Walking and running when I desire
Going back to my childhood as I retire
Sharing my love and my aspirations
With those who value my creations
Being myself, with my vast horizon
Not limited by rules and tradition
Seeing the sunset without saying a word
Observing the starry sky free as a bird

AS WE LIVE...WE ARE SHAPED AND MOLDED BY THE 'POTTER'. THUS, 'HE' TEACHES US TO ENJOY AND ABUNDANTLY APPRECIATE THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE THAT ARE SUCH LASTING AND PRICELESS 'BLESSINGS'. I PRAY YOU CONTINUE TO ENJOY THE RICH LIFE GOD HAS BLESSED YOU WITH, EMILE, FOR YOU CANNOT BUY THE PEACE AND JOY THAT COMES WITH THIS TYPE OF LIVING. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...

An affirmation of good living and a good attitude just doesn't seem to be the prevailing vision of the world today, but fortunately still exists in abundance.
I too, feel the same way about my life although it is a bit different from yours.

ah the life of rustic retirement... and from whence comes such freedom? of so many riches we know it consists... and yet something ineffable without which it would all be mist, n'est pas verite? (isn't it true?) (pardon my French... I try, but fear to fail...) Your poem is a moving tribute to a vital life well lived.
Peace to you, my friend... and may you be at peace with all those you meet.
