This is dedicated to my wife Hettie, on her birthday:
Love is eternal, and even though we shall all surely die, love itself shall be the resurrection, and without love there shall be only death.
|
When the stars die
‘neath the moonless sky
Of the silver wolf
I will love thee
When the sun takes flight
From eternal night
At the end of time
I will sing to thee
When the moon lies dead
O’er a world of dread
No light ahead
I will cleave to thee
When the final breath
Of the final man
Has fled the Earth
I will rejoice in thee
When the Lord of Hell
Hath all life quelled
And god hath fled
I will die for thee
When my spirit rises
O’er seas of gold
‘neath the newborn sky
I will wake for thee
Joined as one
‘mid the newborn heat
Of the risen God
We shall simply BE.
