Tea With A Flea

I chatted with a flea today...

asked him to tea but he could not stay.

I'm headed for the beach on this fine day

to get an early tan.

I'm waiting for a long-haired stray

who just quite... might be going my way.

I shan't be long...I cannot stay

just maybe a fortnight and then a day.

On my return with a golden tan

perhaps for me...a fine tea you'll plan.

Cute and sassy...You've painted a smile. I was delighted to find your name in my guest-book. Thank you for the visit to my garden of
fantasy, reality and ponderings. :-)

Very good poem. I also liked your profile info. I identify with your story having experienced much the same with my mother - and father for that matter. The realization you write about that I also experienced left me with such an empty feeling when I lost my parents.

Pat, This sounds like a nursery rhyme...very ingenious!

I once dated a long haired stray with fleas. Didn't much care for her tea cups though. Patrick

Not a big tea drinker, how about a glass of cheap California burgundy? Cute poetry . . .
