She Did...Yes She Did

Daniel was a dragonfly
She met him quite by chance
while floating on an innertube
to her knee he came to dance.

Now Daniel was a curious chap...
always staring her in the eye
and every time he'd visit
he'd beg her to come fly.

Hovering above her nose
he would show her how it was done...
he'd say,  "after I teach you this
you can show me how to run".

Now wouldn't that be a silly thing
if her arms she began to spin
and  was lifted off that innertube
to fly away with him?

Yes it was a silly thing
a silly nilly thing
but silly mattered naught to her
so thas's just what she did...

A whimsical and quite humorous little encounter. My poem about the dragonfly was a bit more sinister. ;-)

again, that 'touch' Pat;
few if any are your equal when it comes to
writing like this, it flows, it touches,
it has the right delicacy and humour and
the intellectual weight that is satisfying
to adults, as well

I know you did, you did,
You and the dragonfly kid,
Flew away to the sky,
Looked like fun eye to eye,
I know you did, you did,
I was the flying squid.
