living in my October Years
as my year end nears
my mind and heart clears
thoughts and feeling left in arrears
fears & tears
left behind
as in October i find
i approach November blind
will December be cruel or kind?
which memories will linger in my mind?

my September has come and gone
and yet some thoughts linger on
of loves & heartaches long bygone
where do such memories belong?
is holding on right nor wrong?
is Love but a never ending song?

there will be no New Years Day
all my new years have passed their way
even October Years can never stay

and yet each day is new
and when each day is through
there are memories i never knew

and still, there are memories of you
