“...The Future, according to some scientists, will be exactly like the past, only far more expensive...”
----John Sladek----

Picture: Wandering Afghan Nomads near Kabul, Afghanistan

So claim a victory on hold in this place,

another visitor permitted

Handing off feelings with grace

measure for measure

force on force

Mountains, barley, rolling plains

Almost looks like home but with pain

I am now an older young man

almost feel like these nomads on the land

With the camels, donkeys and such

We are no comparison so much

Oh, what I did know

of sovereignty and peace a’ glow

Now protecting with guns

like spears, so thin and stunned

Wide-eyed youngsters

Find slacked and picked; my child

Day by Day seems mild

Hour by hour a wait

Near heaven’s gate

for me...

We live in the troubled times...as the wars have always been around. Very well versed!

Myles,

You've captured the horrors of war all too well. I never quite understood why people killing each other for land, religion, whatever, can be a good thing.
