Rubyesque droplets stain the floor,
more emit from the battered
and bruised body shaken
like a rag doll.

the wrong reply
given, froth
spews forth
from his mouth
as insane rage takes over.

Diamonds fall from eyes
that once flashed sapphire and emeralds.

Reality returns as she painfully
mops the floor and prepares
her childrens' dinner.

In my humble opinion, this is a work of art. A most lovely and graceful way of describing a vicious and shameful aspect of humanity. I imagine the whole story would take a couple of volumes but Precious Gems said it in under 100 words. Absolutely thought provoking.
