What I wrote
Is now resolved;
What I said
Can be dissolved.
What remains
Is what I am …
Free to be
Your loving man.
I am glad
I wrote it out;
The contradiction
And the doubt.
It was the only
Way I knew;
My secret heart
To show to you.
Love cannot live
Outside the mind,
But in the heart
It is refined.
The heart must feel,
And mind express,
In honesty
And tenderness …
In times of joy,
In times of need:
In every thought,
And word, and deed.
So there it is—
I offer you
The love within
The lines I drew.
As for the rubbish
I outlined,
That is no longer
In my mind!
A newer force,
Both fresh and strong,
Picks up to blow
My heart along …
To where it will
Your own heart meet,
And place its vision
At your feet.
