Defying gravity (Nonet)

This poem was inspired by the photo of my friend Kelli and Major, a wonderful horse owned by author Betty Briggs. Betty is not (yet) and authorsden member, but I would like to invite you to visit her website and check out her arsenal of beautifully crafted young adult books.

Chased by sunrays of an early fall
dust clouds rise from thundering hooves
galloping the field of dreams
defying gravity
careless like the wind
in perfect style
and manner
Major
jumps

I love that you have several Nonets among your poems. I have only written one, but I love the challenge of delving into different poetic forms. I've only written one nonet though...as I didn't like the shape of it for anything other than a romance poem as it looked like a heart when it was done... hee, hee... Yours don't! Kudos to you for making it work...

Riding the horse like the wind, whispering to her to go faster, taking no care on her for today, just jumping and letting it all fall behind. What a way to relieve the stresses of today.

Love this Becca and the words give the reader such a feeling of also somehow jumping into the freedom of weightlessness of life. To live without fear is like taking those daring jumps. Your poetry grows with every line sweet one.
