the window offers a view
beyond the horizon I want to see,
where life continues.
trees, birds, clouds – God’s creations
just like me but not for eternity,
foreverness,
for long.
Maybe for a while, until life’s certainty
takes over
and ends.
But the stain on the carpet
remains.

enjoy an award-winning romantic thriller

Reality can be a wake up call can't it. You started this poem soft and dreamy and then bang you hit us with reality, as the poet intended, I am sure. Great delivery!
Much peace, love, and light,

Becca haven't seen much of your poetry lately but this one is sure a triumphant return to the den. It definately makes one think and ponder the inevitabilities of life and living. Very nicely done old friend.

I'm reminded of the quote, Those that forget history are condemned to repeat it, when I read these lines - powerfully thought provoking and moving, Rebecca! Well done!
