A Pure Heart

A poem based on Psalm 51:10, "Create in me a pure heart, O God."

What can I do for a pure heart.
What must I do to get it done?
I’ve worked hard to make it happen
but it seems I’m always on the run.

I can read God’s word every day
and that is a good thing for sure
but that, in itself, won’t do it
no matter how long you endure.

Only God creates the pure heart
and that’s what he desires to do.
So you must open wide your life
and let him create it in you.

...message seems to be with this numerical sequence: we'll always be one card short of a full deck until we let the Lord purify our heart...
"playing solitaire there, with a deck of 51, don't tell me, I got nothing to do..." haha... Lord bless you with greater insight and wisdom... like the book of James says, all we need to do is ask in faith, nothing wavering...

Nice little poem, larry...
