Symphonies of fireflies dance among these

Mental gardens.

Lockers slam, hallways bloom

Overlapping dreams are tossed into the air with our caps.

Vagabond dreamers mingle with future criminals,

Lawyers with the punch.

         Drink up, kiddies!

Pretty soon you’ll be paying for that.

Eviction from your bedroom

        (I OBJECT!)

Due to dancing on the tables

And stealing the towels

From the bathroom closet.

         (But Mom. They’re so EXPENSIVE.)

Collecting pennies, finalizing lists

Showering at two o’clock in the morning

(As a routine, not for fun).

Ladies and Gentlemen, step right up!

 The circus is finally open!
