we have not forgotten

what it means to feel the depths

of forever

the agonizing ache with eyes

that know every suffer

hearts so open the smallest

stardust penetrates like spiked quills

and yes

we have not forgotten

what it means to feel the heights

of emptiness

the incredible bliss with ears

that know every joy

feelings so open the largest

emotions explode like fireworks

and yes

we have not forgotten

what it means to become

the objects of  fascination

dreamlike apparitions

swimming upon possibilities

serving in some scheme

perhaps as miniscule

as the escaping vapors

from a steaming kettle

squeeling a hiss of attention

ready to mix with the healing herbs

you’ve placed into the tea cup

and gently stir

inhaling the aroma

filling your lungs with the

precious knowing

you are alive here and now

and we have not forgotten

Dear Debby, Your poem is so real if we just become aware of the air that we breethe. I sensed the same feeling when I returned to my home town after fouty-six years. Very nicely expressed. Thank you for sharing.

alive in every fibre of your sense and being, Debby, as demonstrated by the highly sensitised and sensuous, sinuous offering you have given us here. I know what it's like to take such a huge lungful of air that you really feel you might burst with the exhilaration of it all! This zings with the frisson of well-being and vitality, physical and spiritual. TY Kate xx

Good poem with metaphysical references. Nice to ogle at the refreshing pulsating metre full of smoothness of the hand and sensitivity. Nice inventing mind. Carry on
