Burn

Dry.
Like crickle-crack dead leaves.

Dries up and curls inside.
Dies up and is hollow.
Snap snap snap.
Twigs and leaves beneath feet.

Yes yes yes.
Get the fire kindling.
Get the fire started so I can
Burn.

Burn.
Like a beacon in the night.
And Burn.
Like a dying soul.
Just Burn.
My time is wearing thin.

Smoked and cured.
Thin and easy.
Empty and full all at once.

Pick up the pile.
Get out the gas.

Burn.
Me like a stove.
Burn.
My eyes.
Don't burn.
My memories.

Burn it all to the ground.
Let it all die so I can build it up from the ash.

Let it die.
Let it go.
Burn it all away.
