This was the style of poetry I wrote in college. Alot of it was when traveling around the country.

SUNSET OF LIFE

In the late afternoon
As the sun sets
The sky is still blue
The day’s not over yet.

As the mountains are trying to push the sun down,
The pink and blue haze on the amber colored ground
Expresses the struggle of the dying day
To remain a while longer, before fading away.

The Charon Covenant

Beautiful. Nature is so incredibly difficult to capture in poetic verse without sounding cliche. You brought this scene alive for me.

Awesome! "As the mountains are trying to push the sun down"...loved the whole poem but this line is brilliant.

It is nothing but a black canvas. You are trying to paint it in white. But the black portion never seems to end. Yet, you are not ready to give it up. This life is all about drawing a beautiful picture. Most of them are destined to die in search of the colors they wish to use.

Must fade into night. That is God's circle of life. The moon rises and the sun sets. Dawn comes and evening comes later. Expressing your thoughts very well in this one.
