This is a poem I wrote while expecting my first child.

BLESSED EVENT

As man and woman we become one
Our goals and dreams unite.
But now we await the birth of another
A dream come true as father and mother.

The day soon came and you were here
So tiny, so precious and quite dear.

As we nestled you safely into your bed
We knelt close by and kissed your sweet head.
Looking at this beautiful child
Our thoughts of the future were running wild.

What path should you choose
What battles you may win and which you may lose.
The smiles, the tears, the winning cheers
This life to share throughout the years.
