Lost Christmas

wars begin with a foreign hope
struggles of pride become others fears
a childs toy falls with her lil tears
as the tanks rolled in on Christmas day

windows left without a Christmas lite
no glass left to peer from anyhow
summer gives into winter with a bow
there won't be any snow angels today

some blasts don't come from a driven wind
tho, felt without coats all the same
no possessions come easy in this game
today, soldiers killed the childrens' smile

open the doors with, "shouts get out!"
one mans company is not anothers
as snow falls on your the fallen brothers
wheel-barrows carry a cities peace

"Silent Night," not heard on this Christmas
bombs explode into a little girls head
moments after she was put into bed
a plea is to late to save her lost doll

soldiers in hurried moments, pass her by
one soldier stops for the barefoot child
no doll in hand, he had to wonder why
asks her if he can help her find a smile

"no," she says, on little bended knees
" have you lost your doll, or, way home?"
"no, you soldiers took away family and home"
her final words were, "I've lost Christmas"

~~michael~~

Happy Christmas to all...........please point a lite towards the foreign skies so that the children will know they are not forgotten.....Peace...
