These Foolish Things

...through my wondrous senses.

A scent of pine -
we walked at shore's edge
neither one letting go
of the others hand
fearful the night might end.

A taste of honey sweetness -
your lips upon mine own
melding heart and mind
with a sensual softness
ne'er to be forgotten.

A sight of sunrise -
awakening with you at my side
remembering a night's bliss
your love to sustain me
when you are no longer there.

A touch from wayward feather -
your tender, loving hands
caressing my cheek, shoulder, breast
I shudder in contentment
knowing we forever remain as one.

And with breezes wafting, I hear -
the song of Benny Goodman:
These Foolish Things
remind me of you,
through all my wondrous senses.

I recently listened to Benny Goodman's "These Foolish Things" and was inspired to remember...

it hangs there, suspended in your heart and mind timelessly -- love recollected as fresh as the moment you were smitten -- what a blessing -- peace and love my friend -- Jon Michael

I love the way you envelop such classic loving sensuality and togetherness with a very heart-warming, neo-"classic" song. The two meld together beautifully to make a timeless but easily "of the moment" write. Mystical and yet very real and close. Lovely, Micke. And thanks for the Ed-update... we continue to pray on... Your unstinting love and support are totally awesome. Bless you! :)) xx
