My Muse struck repeatedly whilst attempting to watch 'Sybil' the first recorded case of multiple personalities

June 7 2008...7.48, 7.58, 6.10, 6.20 and 6.30 in the p.m.!

La Quinta Hotel, Laredo TX

I do not watch much TV it's rarely that I do

No antenna is connected to my set it broke in two!

That was from some gale force winds I think it was a sign

Don't bother watching TV it can put you in a bind!

I put my TV on I do but all I ever see

Is DVD's and VHS while watching those you're free!

Free of what? You may well ask I'll let you know quite soon

But I have some more to say before this verse is through!

Now I am in a hotel with an humungeous screen

I was gonna watch a film then all at once I screamed!

I'd read the book some years ago it made an impression on me

About a mighty breakthrough in modern psychiatry

The film came on 'bout six o'clock it didn't take much time

I pressed the 'mute' cut volume out and then I swore me blind!

The film was cut in pieces the reason is you see

There were constant interruptions no continuity!

I don't know how people do it those who watch it all the time

They must turn their brains off or else they're mentally blind!

I don't know how they keep their cool when what they're watching stops

To be replaced with crap and dross brains wiped just like a mop!

Wiping then programming what they want into your brain

I program my brain I do so all I get is pain!

Now maybe some won't get this, won't know what I'm on about

They will not understand the many ways they lose their clout!

I think it may far too late to hope for a reversal

So blank your brains and be programmed....

'Cos here come the commercials!

and it's subliminal one too!

Buy My Book, Buy My Book, Buy My Book....Please!

Was that subliminal enough?

What you get for watching too much television. As for Sybil, I have the movie, had it for years, good movie too! Much rather listen to music of my choice, work in my garden, knit, crochet, cook, needlepoint and of course write. Nice piece, very interesting and maybe even true....

Be always safe,
Karen

Ah ha, Yes, my brain is programmed or maybe it isn't as bad as I think. That just means I'm delusional. Yes, my numbed out brains from the TV. The whole thing keeps us passive so we won't understand what they are doing to us. Bull. Excellent poem. Liz

We must have been watching at the same time. Great old movie ... simply cut to pieces with commercials. Really ruined it. But I got even. Since they ruined my movie - I tuned out their commercials. That'll show 'em :-)

Ted
