Sheila,
Beautifully written musing on the eternal question and problem of time and indeed an ode to time; and your style, phrasing and metrical intuition are simply excellent.

| I love the journey you make in this poem, Sheila. The first and last stanzas envelope your thoughts to bring them full circle, and my goodness what lies in between! You have crafted this so well to include many bold images that take the mind in several of experience's directions all at once. You show us the diversity of what we must always hold onto ... and why! Excellent writing: tight and metrically perfect. An exhortation to espouse in the moment it presents itself! Thank you, Kate xx |

I agree, Sheila; the graphic image does indeed complement your verses. You give the reader much pause for reflection here. Sometimes when I close my eyes it is as though I can "feel" time rushing past my face like a breeze. Very nicely done! Love, hugs, and best wishes to you,

Nicely written dear Sheila; the mixture of melancholy, strength, and philosophical insight. I also like the nuances of the prophetic inbetween your thoughts. We all need to prepare, in the next few years great changes are coming upon planet Earth.
While I read, a scene in the movie "Snow Falling On Cedars" came to mind, an excellent piece of cinematic art incidentally, in it the old lawyer bemoans: "Now, at my age, I understand my life more in terms of dying than living." Your were kind in your last two lines. Right now is what's most important. Being true to your calling, knowing what is yours to take care of and doing so, maintaining friendships that are real, weeding out the negative, always loving and supporting those that you were given to love, simplifying your life, ... the list is long. Your work always touches me.
Blessings ... |

One of your best. Shiela this has so much wisdom and room for the reader to reflect on that I truly love it, especially the second verse, for although there are so many great lines in it that one seemed to mirror my own feelings of late.
