Some victims are born. I am not one of them.

© 2007 M. Bennett Hooper

If you’ve never killed anyone how are you going to tell me what it is like?

If you’ve never had to face a life threatening act of someone shooting at you, how are you going to tell me how to respond?

It’s not about country

It’s not about patriotism

It’s not about God.

It’s about me a 70 year old woman about to be carjacked who is pulling the trigger to blow your ass away.

Carrying concealed weapons without a license is a criminal offense.

What about hurting me, killing me.

Just another statistic

THINK AGAIN.

"A Killers' View"
Indeed the criminals do need to "THINK AGAIN"
It is quite painful these days to see such crimes against the elderly that it just shatters and rocks the soul. Where did the lack of respect and consideration for our elders go anyway?
I do hope this has not happened to you and that you do not have to result to havin' to pack but...I also do believe in a person having a registered weapon if they so deem necessary. However, as we know these criminals surely go through no seemingly long drawn out deals to cop their weapons seems they get them like they buy candy nowadays!
Therefore, we all have to be extremely careful when we do venture to possess a firearm. As they say it is not the gun that kills it is the person, and that is a true fact. Be safe, careful, but most of all enjoy your life as you see fit! Seems we all have to take back what has been lost somewhere along the lines, or otherwise everyone will be taking up arms.

Thank you for sharing your write continued enlightenment,
From the Heart of an Artist...

Mikii,

An excellent poem; better to have protection nearby and not need it than to be caught, unaware and unprepared. A sad commentary on today's society, yet excellently penned.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

This is so wonderfully written and it was a very pleasurable read. Thanks for sharing this with me on the Den.

Which is why I am licensed.

Those who are for gun control actually believe criminals are going to give up their guns. Common sense is not a strong suit in the human condition. If criminals obeyed the laws, there would be no crime.

Powerful thoughts. You are back like gangbusters, woman.
