The Intern Game

To a certain Judge who believed that all interns should be named Monica. This is not current event or a vent. It is poetry. Nothing more than creative writing.

Am I such a bitch

because I am independent

and refuse my place in this sexist race

where my skirt can accomplish

more than my mind

in the minds of many?

Am I such a bitch,

not playing the game

of stroking your ego with

a giggle at your stupidity

and a smile at your ignorance?

I don’t need a skirt for my advantage.

The score is 30-love and you are

much too slow to return my serve.

And yes, I am a bitch,

but that is not the point.

Move over Reese, there's a new sherriff in town! Great stuff Lori! I used to be in the brokerage industry...another "man's" game if you will. The women who did make it in that industry were tough as nails and very talented. Same goes for you I'm sure. Be good.

Ah, the old boy's game... It was put to me so succinctly, "I can do anything you can do, including peeing sideways." I demurred to her feminine rage, but still don't believe her early childhood skills were comparable to hard-won engineering accomplishments.

Nice write.

Ron.

Maybe from their narrow point of view, that women are property and meant to be used and taken at will. Stand up to them, Lori. Don't be anyone's bitch. ~ Sara

Lori,
Oh yes! This is wonderful and strong and assertive and positive. It reminds me of Camus..."a slave is no longer a slave when he says 'No.'"
Excellent!

It is the same story, different day, Lori. I learned a long time ago that my "charms" were considered to be of more value than my wit or wisdom, in the business world. In many ways, it is still a man's world, but I blame the women who play into their game for keeping it as a most successful business tactic. There is no future for a woman who uses her skirt to get into the game. As soon as they tire of you, and believe me, they will tire of you, you are out and the new skirt is in. Great write, Lori.
Take care,
Sherry

Guess I missed something here. What judge? This whole sexist thing is really getting old hat for christsakes. Ah, maybe it's just me, but women use their sex appeal to their advantage every single day. We are not allowed to complain, only the, quote, "fairer sex" can do that.
