A poem to a woman who was one of a kind

During my years from you and home,
Regardless,how much I have or may roam,
You and your influence are my guide,
And constantly,you're near me,by my side

Although I may not often write,
You have been and will be,my guiding light,
To you,I send thanks for all you've done,
In preparing me,for life's race to run

Don't worry about how I'm getting along,
Because of you,I'm still going strong,
My aim,is to soon reach the top,
And until then,I'll go forward and not stop

So mother,in my life,there's no regret,
And I hope,you won't worry yourself or fret,
You have,in everything,done your best,
And I'll keep pressing forward and pass life's test
