Life is beautiful.
|
Five Times Blessed
Smell
The scent of lilacs
Cinnamon, coriander
Ivory soapsuds.
Touch
A dog’s soft belly
Cat’s rough tongue, elephant hides,
Snowflakes, raindrops, hugs.
Sight
Dazzling red dahlias,
Eucalyptus trees stretching
To sky’s cotton clouds.
Sound
Wind across sand dunes
Low-tide, waves’ susurration
A gull calls me home.
Taste
Gumdrops, chocolates,
Onions, Gorgonzola cheese,
Radish, spinach, kale.

Very charming and inspiring, may I add roses, rainbows, cotton candy,
silk and satin, summer breeze, sand on toes, and warmth of sunlight!

| How innovative--a poem from five haikus. Yes, the five senses are blessings. Can you imagine what it would be like without them. Very creative write. |
