A Country Cure-All

Peace is the answer to so much.

A Country Cure-All

An eagle ascending from the lake’s rippled gleams

My knotted neck relaxes.

Emerald hills rolling to the ruffled horizon

My aching back unclenches.

A yearling deer crossing the shady driveway

My sore heart eases.

Nature flinging her arms wide

My cynical self recedes.

Hi Eileen, Indeed, how can one be cynical when accompanied by nature?! Man's heart away from nature is cold. Stirring words for a some-times cynic... :) thank you for sharing this...

To live in the city is sooo stressful as compared to the city, my health no longer allows me to live where deer walk out into my back yard as they have for the past five years and soon I will move into an apartment in the city so keep my memories alive with poetry like this.
