God Must Love Me
by Paul H. Kogel
From: Paul
To: Marlena
I think that God must love me,
Do you know why that’s true ?
Because he gave me all I need,
In one sweet gift called you.
You came from way far o'er the sea,
But it seemed like from above.
But ner’ an angel could have wrought,
What you did with your love.
So, now we celebrate the day,
That you were born to earth.
It must have been by beam’s array,
From the sun’s immortal birth.
So let me say before I close,
That love is quite your due.
For to merely say that I love you,
Would lessen what is true .
You’ve cared for me in good and bad,
In all the happy times and sad.
You offered up yourself with glee,
And ask for nothing more than me.
I know that I may not be much,
But this one thing I know,
Because of you, it’s plain to see,
That God must love me so.

The fact that tears fill my eyes is not because your poem caught me at a weak moment; it's because expressions of truth cannot be denied.
My dear Paul, you write with a soft and gifted pen.
With respect and admiration,
Richard |

Hello Paul-
When God gives you someone who loves you and someone you love in return,
that is the best gift of all and the best proof of God's love. Lovely
poem from the heart!
