Bronze unfolds
to dazzling white
blinding my heart
to a halt.
I think of a Cheshire cat
and
my body
melting
into liquid pearl
swirling
in a bowl
before you,
begging...
You don’t hear
as you look through.
Like Carroll’s Cheshire cat
you’re disembodied,
oblivious.
