I wrote this poem to commemorate the upcoming anniversary of when Jill and I met. The miles between us, right now, are tough, but she is my best friend, my biggest supporter, and, considering how we met, my biggest suprise. Soon, we will be together; for now, enjoy this poem and check out Jill's website, too.

(Written for May 13, 2008)
This message in a bottle
Given to you from me
Is just my little thank-you
As you wait patiently
Two years ago, I met you
You knew how to impress
And yet, I had but no clue
You'd be "my" poetess
That day will live forever
Though much is not the same
Our bond shall leave us never
(I know this might sound lame)
But, you and I share something
A rare gift to embrace
The gift of understanding
'cross distance, at God's pace
God's pace is often slower
Than bottles sent to sea
But, soon, we'll join together
To explore what can be
When our hearts reach their "moment"
We'll learn what lies in store
But, for now, know I'm grateful
You're waiting by the shore

Happy Second Anniversary of the day we met!
I'll never again walk into the place where we met and not wish I was re-living that moment.
You surprised me, then; you still do, and I'm sure you still have a lot of surprises yet to share.
