I wrote this for a friend that has been through too much turmoil in her life and for those sharing it.

Forged in moments tender
Our time, our life began
Our promises we render
With love, our hand in hand

In time revealed a stranger
Hidden deep your demon dark
When raised the hand of anger
Each strike destroys loves heart

Your love has turned an ill will
With words of razors blade
Tried my spoken vows fulfill
Though just a masked charade

Your sorrow later spoken
So many times believed
Your promises are tokens
Tears hide that my heart bleeds

Time has many scars amassed
On a heart that needed kindness
Love’s heart has beat its last
The consequence of blindness

Could not you see the dying
Of love in emerald eyes
No more my tears denying
No more believing lies

My time I take for healing
My self esteem reclaimed
This heart shall bare new feeling
False burdens shed self blame
