Written about a friends situation and dealing with it

The door behind me closing
To my room where lone I sleep
My mind in memories of past
All the good I choose to keep
Thinking why our paths have parted
Fill my eyes that will not weep

Your gift of flowers showered
When we dance with whim on street
So tenderly embracing
Your love swept me off my feet
A call to say you love me
Made a plan somewhere to meet

How have we drifted so far
That no more each other know
Our attention separating
Our own ways now we go
In times we share together
Our union fails to grow

 Our passion set a sunder
By one who caught your eye
Alone we sleep together
Before we say good bye
You’re gone but part still loves you
And that love will never die

Farewell we wished in parting
Even though again we’ll see
For our son’s life we still share
Foolish man, you are too busy
Only calls you give to him
Soon this boy a man will be

My heart now lays in silence
For my life is now my child
My precious one adores me
My companion all the while
One day a love will find me
And again my heart will smile

Love is waiting for you and will never leave you. I hope you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

You share a timeless and universal theme of this life/world it seems, Ed. Sad but true. Thank you. Love and peace to you,

I see this is written in 2009, clearly about the turmoil of divorce. I hope things are better now.
