Jon,
This is a poem from a writer of experience in every sense, a commander of thought, feeling and language, one who knows what's required and asked in the ongoing struggle and joy life is. Your opening lines,
"I knew them each
by the naked qualities
of their purposefulness"
are outstanding and set the tone for the entire poem.
Fine work indeed.

Once again, Jon, you embrace the heart and mind
with the studied language and skill of a committed poet
whose words and rhythms linger on in this reader's admiration
and envy. Beautifully done, my friend. -gene. |
