I have a crystal ball that sees only the past.
That life seems preserved within its glass.
The internet is a monster of some sort
because photos are eternal and never distort.

That smiling face I’d seen some ten years ago
is still smiling and no wear does it show.
Those picture shows and blog posts are forever.
The world is a web now and escape is never.

I have a crystal ball that speaks no truths.
I can’t divine an answer - find no clues
as to what the future might hold for me
because only yesterday is what I can see.

Ghosts are forever in the camera’s eye.
That moment captured shall never die.
I have a crystal ball that sees only the past.
That life seems preserved within its glass.

Can see this as really good song lyrics in a smoky sultry voice, soft guitar and bass drums....

I really like this, Lori. The past preserved in your Crystal Ball
is prologue to the lovely, talented you that you are today. -gene.
