A kitten wandering aimlessly, like a lost child in the night
Eddie’s wife, Mrs. Leow, is moved by the feline’s pitiful sight
Without hesitation, Mrs. Leow carries away the lost kitten
And over the cat, the family soon becomes smitten
For this lovely kitten, the family decides on a simple name
Hsiao Hua is chosen for the family’s feline friend that’s oh so friendly and tame
Sitting obediently on the TV set, I notice Hsiao Hua’s striking green eyes
And have only admiration for this lovable cat that
has brought to the Leow’s, closer family ties
The Leow family has four pet cats, but Hsiao Hua is Eddie’s joy
He dotes on his pet like a child would to her favourite toy
“Don’t you find Hsiao Hua adorable?” Eddie asks
“Of course”, I tell Eddie, “ And she has eyes which sparkle like glass”
The Leow family cherishes their cats like true -blooded friends
These feline pets, it is obvious will be loyal to Eddie’s family to the very end
“Can everyone in the world treat animals
with this kind of love and respect?”
This question, I ask myself time and again, when reading of ill treatment of animals
by individuals whose love for animals, they certainly lack
Sincerely,
Raymond Anthony Fernando
