The sadness always comes
The happier I am
The harder it hits when it comes
And it always does
I can sometimes put it off
Hoping against hope
That this time I’ll stay up
Cheerful
Above all the gray
But it seeps in
Like dirty water after the snow melts
Dingy
Depression always is
Gray
And it always comes
always

Like dirty water after the snow melts

A fine simile that serves to emphasize the theme of this poem; and I can relate, Sue. Love and best wishes,

You inspire in everyone of your poems.

Thank you Sue.
