April Goodbye

April Goodbye

time to say "see ya"
but rain chills the air
no place to go
in such cold.
tomorrow seems the same,
no one to say "I'll miss you,"
the neighborhood dank with loss
no one home
windows dark
the clouds close as fog.
we think of faces,
those moments of connection,
but the electricity is off
and the day promises
darkness, nothing
urges surrender more
than defeat.
