Facile expressions to delude
Pretentious thoughts to seclude
If the tongue is mightier than the sword
Then why do we beseech our Lord?
When filled with doubt and fear
We cry out to be so near
Pride and ego abound
Willful lies to astound
Those who promise change
Prey upon those born strange
Defile all that is good
Where God once stood
Some say the end times are here
From the straight and narrow we veer
Legal experts pontificate
While politicians reciprocate
The masses remain confused
By biased reporting of news
Who can decipher our rhetoric?
Among lawyers, politicians and clerics
No wonder we stress and fret
Living lives without regret
Turn to Him if you equivocate
Before your soul suffocates
