Love is the greatest of all

Even as a child, I knew that eventually I would have all that was meant for me

but I never wished for material things

I just wanted the joy that love brings

purest love like a newborn baby, or a bird when he sings

pure as an angel with a new set of wings

but I got the house, car and beautiful things

material things came easy,  the list was extensive

I never put value on things that were expensive

never meant much to me, honestly I could care less

what I wanted was love, the value is priceless

In your line you said "but I never wished for material things".That phrase remind me of a song by Alicia Keys called "If I Aint Got You" where she sings about having her man in her life and all the materialistic things doesn't matter to her.I enjoy reading this poem.Love is the greatest feeling in the world and you have portrayed it beautifully.Love can make a person rich without money.take care of yourself
