Sowing Seeds of Spiritual Fruit

This was on display at a Christian art show.

If you sow seeds of Spiritual fruit,

Agape love will grow and bear a crop.

Joy grows by our being available,

Peace expands while in God’s Word,

Patience uplifts us all of our days,

Kindness nurtures all thru listening,

Goodness increases without reward,

Faithfulness arises in our tragedies,

A plant of Gentleness harms no one,

And self-Control will not retaliate.

If these seeds expand within my soul,

Will any who are of the world notice?

Will they even listen when I speak?

Will they care, honor, or accept me?

No, they love the world and sin boldly.

Such fruits stifle their selfish impulses.

Wisdom hated and indecency pleases,

Awful times blamed on the Almighty,

Subsequent woes taken out on others,

Then used as an excuse to sin more.

The world boycotts all that resists sin.

However, I must say if I can endure

even a tiny little of what Christ did

I celebrate, for such agony is blessed.

Patricia, your intelligence and insight are plain in this poem. I tried to find a favorite line to no avail. So much wisdom here, and so perfectly stated. I suppose if I had to choose a favorite part, it would be: A plant of Gentleness harms no one, And self-Control will not retaliate.

I truly loved your poetry! It is very spirtually uplifting!

I am involved in prison ministry. I love to help the youth.

Please pray for them as many are lost sheep.

Blessings,

Pat an awesome tribute to the fruits of the Spirit and your knowledge of how they work and why we must be steadfast in our use of them no matter what the rest of the world does! Great Christan art! Thanks for sharing!
