Resurrected Love

Begin again.

Damaged dreams,

blanched and bitter

buried

deep beyond caprice

and promises

breached by words

poisoned from

the careless

pledges

of lovers

destined to

indulge their

loins

lavish with lust

leaving hearts

discarded

shells, coiled

tight as

conches

strewn on

black barren

beaches,

dragged by

ebbing tides

to frozen

depths

of love's

casual

abandon.

Still,

she breathes,

a pulse

bereft of love

longing for caress,

hypnotised by

hushed tones

of whispered

memories.

The wind

tears at

shattered

shrouds

stirring the

silence

of a sterile soul

where silver

water

bursts its

breaking banks,

drenched,

she swims

to shore.

In the pre-dawn

hour,

a knew mind

awakens,

her face wet

from the floods

of yesterday.
