Until they're gone......

THE OLD MAN

A tear slid down his face

Waiting by the phone that day

Hoping for a word

And praying they might say,

I love you Dad

Thank you for all that you have done.

No college debt for us, great vacations weren’t so bad.

You gave it your all so we’d

Have things you never had.

The old man’s chair is empty now

He’s dancing with the Lord

On the day he died

He thought I wouldn’t see,

The tear in his eye,

Will they remember me?
