SUMMERTIME
I used to count the days
Until the sun was here
The days with heat and bugs
And the cold was no where near
Flowers bloom outside each day
With summertime, they’re here to stay.
Running barefoot in the grass
Is something fun to do
A picnic at the park
watching sunsets till dark.
Summer’s not for the faint at heart
The heat is so intense
It’s now the fall I crave
Offering much cooler temps.
How I do love the summer
But I crave the winter too
When the snow flies outside
I’ll be asking, summer where are you?
