On The Alter
By Myrtle Poor (c)
Oh Lord I lay this petition,
On the alter before you this day
For my loved ones,
Friends and their families
So many seem to be struggling, I say,
People are searching and looking
For anyway that they find to get out
Of this terrible mess we the people,
Have made of our lives,
That's no doubt.
There are so many little churches
On every street corner, in town.
The pews In the church are half empty
For come Sunday morning
There is no one in church to be found.
The price of groceries are soaring
And the cost of gas, is way out of sight.
We need to look in ourselves,
And see Jesus
And turn our hearts over to Christ.
He is a situation changer
As He leads His children each day.
Through His tender mercy,
And goodness
For us He will sure make away.
