This poem tells about the ways things are today. I was led of God to write it. The only way that things are going to turn around is for his people to follow what the Word says below.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
4 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

On The Alter
By Myrtle Poor (c)

Oh Lord I lay this petition,
On the alter before you this day
For my loved ones,
Friends and their families
So many seem to be struggling, I say,

People are searching and looking
For anyway that they find to get out
Of this terrible mess we the people,
Have made of our lives,
 That's no doubt.

There are so many little churches
On every street corner, in town.
The pews In the church are half empty
 For come Sunday morning
There is no one in church to be found.

The price of groceries are soaring
And the cost of gas, is way out of sight.
We need to look in ourselves,
  And see Jesus
And turn our hearts over to Christ.

He is a situation changer
As He leads His children each day.
Through His tender mercy,
And goodness
For us He will sure make away.

Great message in this, Myrtle; our pastor spoke about this very thing today (rather, the kid's pastor did; our senior pastor is on his way back from a well deserved vacation!): learning to love as a child, as Christ does.

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
