I woke up at 4 am this morning with these words chasing each other around in my muse refused to let me go back to sleep until I wrote this down....Rest in peace beautiful Whitney Houston!

He felt your tears; He heard your voice
He called your name; you had no choice.
He took you home, to walk with Him
He freed you from the pain within!
Right by His side, you’re not alone
Your journey’s done, and now you’re home.
You paid the price for wealth and fame
And now the world won’t be the same.
You’re free to be, no earthly ties
And though you never said goodbye,
Those who loved you understand
The spirit’s always close at hand.
Your voice a gift, you kindly shared
And even when you were really scared
You believed in Him, and He in you…
And He gave you the strength to carry through!
Our shattered hearts will mend one day
Cause broken hearts do mend they say.
And even though you’re really gone…
Your spirit will live on and on.
You’re free to be, no earthly ties
And though you never said goodbye,
Those who loved you understand
The spirit’s always close at hand.

Thank you for writing this tribute for Whitney... I was very shaken by her death... she rose to fame during my college years... and my first movie date with my husband was to see The Bodyguard. Such a talent and you have written what my heart feels... well done.

A wonderful tribute to Whitney Annabel Karissa! We are all sinners so who am I to throw stones at how she lived her life. I did write a book titled "Mentoring To-Go" and it may have helped Whitney because it contains information on how to break a habit. I hope and pray I can help someone like her through my writing so another talent like hers will not leave the earth so young. May God rest her soul. I loved her songs so much I just can't get her sweet voice out of my mind. But that is a good thing because she sings like an angel. Amen!

God bless you and your writing,

John Michael Domino

A wonderful tribute to Whitney Houston. I thought of writing one myself, but didn't. As long as I live, I will think of that voice and how she touched me every time she sang. Thanks for sharing.

Whitney is at peace now, her tortured life over. She is singing once again in the Heavenly choir, returning to her roots of gospel music. A lovely tribute, Annabell.

Oh what great sentiments to Whitney Houston and I love it! She was adored by many for her outstanding talent as an artist and actress and its so sad to have lost such a phenominal woman. Well done Anna and blessings to you lady! :)

Like Jerry, I don't give her a lot of credit for the way she lived her life, or the way she wasted a once in a lifetime talent, but man that girl could sing.

Perfect rhythm to this one, Anna. Really well done.

Thanks Dick

Very nicely said, Anna. She wasn't my favorite person because she fell into the sewer of crack, etc., and never took control of her life again. I don't slam her for being an addict, I was one, a bad one, but the slam is the inability to understand her greatness and climb out of that pit. We all have greatness within us in some form or other, she had it in abundance and abused it, failing herself unto the very end.
