The pain of yesterday is still fresh in my mind...yet your absence brings a peaceful relief... |

The Pain of Yesterday
May 2, 2012
The soothing rain cascades down my body
Washing away the pain of yesterday
Your unexpected passing to the skies above
Is still fresh and the tears bitter
Yet I feel a peaceful relief of your absence
For your last days on this earth
Were filled with agonizing torture
That never ceased its cruel game
You are now a free roaming soul
That you had wished for in your final days
Leaving both you and me in peace

If one must suffer, I would wish for death as you describe. My partner and I often discuss this subject, but never come to a satisfactory conclusion.
It appears your pain is over–that is good.

My sympathy is extended to you, Lena. I suppose it is true that passing from this place and time can often be a relief... ...and a new beginning. I think you meant to write "ceased" in the eighth verse. Love and best wishes,
