The Door
In Memory of 'Gloria'!
While musing upon some precious events,
Of 'Glory' in days that are past-
It seems so unfair how fast they were spent,
Yet thankfully memories last!
Our life must be lived for time does not wait,
And that which we sow we will reap-
Our destiny call will not beckon late,
Death is an appointment we'll keep!
While sitting beside her bed in the dark,
And holding her weak, feeble hand-
My mind's eye did see her ship had embarked,
She peered for that beautiful land!
The door that was shut has now opened wide,
Her pain and her tears are all gone-
Jesus, her Saviour, is right by her side,
Greeting her, "Child, welcome home!"
Eternity's door will open for all,
Prepare now and do not delay-
Hearken intently, respond to His call,
For Heaven's just one prayer away!
